They confirmed that popular preacher Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, or better known as Ustaz Ebit Lew, had been summoned to investigate allegations of sexual harassment.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Director Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan confirmed that the preacher was under investigation under article 509 of the Penal Code, article 14 of the Law on minor offenses and article 233 of the Law on Communications and Multimedia.
According to the press release shared on the official social media of the PDRM, the police will investigate the case before referring the case to the public prosecutor’s office.
Abdul Jalil also reminded the public not to speculate or provoke parties to ensure that a proper investigation can be conducted.
He also asked the public to refrain from sharing any material that could jeopardize the case.
According to a report on Harian Metro, the preacher is under investigation after a video of someone who looks like him involved in obscene acts went viral on social media.
The preacher denied any allegations against him and even said he forgave whoever made the allegation.
