Fans blame yellow shorts as United get off to a bad start against Southampton

[ad_1]

Manchester United are wearing their third shirt for the first time this season, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have traveled to the south coast to face Southampton.

United are looking to record two out of every two wins, following their strong performance last weekend as they pulled off convincing 5-1 home wins against Leeds United, where Bruno Fernandes scored his first United hat-trick.

Solskjaer decided to stick with the 4-2-3-1 system going into this game, with Nemanja Matic and Anthony Martial replacing Scott McTominay and Daniel James respectively.

The Red Devils, who played in their loyal home gang last weekend sporting new sponsor ‘Team Viewer’, play in a unique blue and yellow number, the likes of which aren’t often used by the 20 Premier Champions. League.

United ended up 1-0 at halftime due to a deflected strike from Che Adams, and Red Devils fans took to Twitter to suggest the yellow shorts were causing United’s poor performance.

Below, MEN Sport takes a look at what United fans had to say after their poor start at St Mary’s.

@chelUTD: “I’m sorry, but those yellow shorts look nasty.”

@ clurr1984: “So far I blame those horrible yellow shorts.”

@theloveDRE: “HT Analysis: I blame the yellow shorts.”

@ TimmytheRed98: “I blame those horrible yellow shorts for that.”

As you can see, the decision to go for yellow shorts for United’s first away game of the season has not been well received by a large part of United’s loyalists.
