Jew knocked out in north London in suspected racist attack

Police are calling for help after a Jewish man in his 60s was assaulted in north London in an alleged racist attack.

The victim lost consciousness during the incident and was taken to hospital with a broken ankle and facial injuries.

The Metropolitan Police have released an image and pictures of a man they want to identify and who they are talking to.

Officers were called to report an assault in Stamford Hill on Wednesday at around 8:30 p.m.

The footage appeared to show a man in Orthodox Jewish costume being hit by another man.

Officers said they spoke to the 64-year-old man, who was on his way to his synagogue when he was shot. The Met said the assault was being treated as a hate crime.

The victim said she had no recollection of the attack as she had passed out.

I hit my head against the wall and that was it, I have no recollection, he said

The police take this very seriously because there is so much anxiety in the community, but we are a very close-knit, welcoming and loving community.

He added that he did not wish to say more while the investigations were ongoing.

Detectives urged anyone who recognizes the man, or who witnessed the assault and did not speak to police, to come forward.

Officers are ready to investigate offenses and support anyone who has been affected by someone else’s prejudice, ignorance or violence.

Crimes of this nature will not be tolerated.
