Let’s Stand Up and Stop the Blame Game – Chico Enterprise-Record

[ad_1]

As we approach the recall election, I wonder how we lost the ability to “lift” people rather than tear down and blame. There was also a movement to remind the school board for their decisions during these trying times… another ridiculous expenditure of money to satisfy the squeaky wheels.

Where is our individual contribution to society other than complaining, attacking and belittling others?

I watched the teachers at the school on opening day greet their new students with enthusiasm and positive energy: no complaints about the difficulties they had in teaching and making the children feel safe .

I know health workers who say, “Here we go again” as they prepare to take care of those who would rather complain than get vaccinated.

Our firefighters are exhausted and we just complain about the quality of the air.

The soaring temperatures continue, but many are still convinced that others must deal with this problem rather than supporting efforts to heal our Earth from climate change.

Let us raise our consciousness. Prayer works, so does individual responsibility. Forget the “blame game” and do a little thing every day to become better citizens of each other, our community, our state, our country and the world. What have each of us done over the past 17 months to heal our community and support those who are really trying to do it?
