New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo bade farewell on Monday as he prepared to step down, but critics have not abandoned their criticism with the governor’s departure.

Assembly Member Ron Kim, a fellow Democrat who disagreed with the governor, recalled that although Cuomo’s resignation followed an investigation into sexual harassment by the state attorney general, he did not yet to respond to the alleged harms surrounding nursing home deaths from the coronavirus.

“On the last day of his tenure in Cuomo, a reminder that we still don’t have justice for nursing home victims,” Kim tweeted early Monday morning. “He doesn’t deserve the soft landing and graceful exit with ZERO responsibility for his faults.”

Cuomo has been blamed for the deaths of thousands of nursing home residents due to his order requiring nursing homes to accept residents who had tested positive for COVID-19 after discharge from hospitals. His office was also charged with obstructing justice after a report that Cuomo’s former aide Melissa DeRosa told Democratic state lawmakers the numbers were withheld from them to avoid a possible federal investigation.

Kim claims Cuomo wanted him to say the numbers were withheld from state lawmakers because the administration wanted to respond to the Justice Department first and threatened to “destroy” it for not agreeing to the story.

“He’s a man who was willing to say and do anything to shirk responsibility,” Kim told “Fox & Friends” on Monday.

CUOMO ARRESTS JOURNALIST AS FACED WITH HIS SCANDALS IN HURRICANE BRIEFING

The Justice Department announced in July that it was dropping an investigation into the nursing home affair.

Kims’ words were close to nature in relation to the statement by Representative Elise Stefanik, RN.Y.

“Good riddance to America’s worst governor,” Stefanik said. “Under the failed leadership of Andrew Cuomo, New Yorkers suffered a corruption scandal after a bribery scam, unlawful criminal acts committed on taxpayer dollars, and rampant political revenge and retaliation creating a toxic political culture systemic in Albany. “

Stefanik then demanded that Cuomo be arrested and prosecuted, and that his appointees be fired.

State Senator Alessandra Biaggi, a frequent critic of Cuomo, even pointed out that Cuomo left as supposed evidence of bad character, following a report that the outgoing governor left his dog behind when he had Left the executive mansion and asked the staff if they wanted the pets.

“What archetype of person leaves behind their dog when they move? The cruelest kind,” she said.

Lindsey Boylan, the first woman to come forward and accuse Cuomo of harassment, also highlighted the report.

“Such a symbol of who this guy is underneath it all,” she said.
