WILMINGTON, MASS. (WHDH) – The Wilmington Public School District revealed details of the shocking student abuse during a meeting Monday night.

The parents, who say their children were abused at the Wildwood Early Child Center, came for answers after receiving only a summary of a 27-page report detailing the findings of independent investigator Patrick Hanley.

Hanley was hired by the district to investigate allegations against staff in Class 7 that span the 2020-2021 school year.

My conclusion is yes, there has been abuse of three children this school year and one child last year, Hanley told those gathered.

In her report, Hanley wrote that a staff member grabbed, held and pushed the children with one foot.

It all started when Sabrina Veloza and Alex Condells’ 3-year-old son came home with bruises down their legs. The two took to social media to share their concerns and that’s when parents started to come forward and share their decades-old stories.

Despite this, the scope of the Hanleys report only covers one school year and worried parents want the school to be held accountable.

They didn’t ask him to do much, said lawyer Steve Bergel, who represents the families of alleged victims of abuse. Just the very, very tip of the iceberg. They haven’t looked below and they just want to move on.

Superintendent Glenn Brand took the opportunity to explain how the school plans to move forward with the report. He said a majority of their plan will focus on expanding existing training.

Parents say they are frustrated and want a real plan of action so something like this never happens again.

All he said was, look, we’ve been doing this for years and see, it works, said attorney Richard Welsh, who also represents families. BS I’m calling because it’s not working. They just protect their own and what about parents and kids? This is what is not protected.
