Rest assured, “Ghostbusters” fans. Reactions across the board seem overwhelmingly positive, praising the film for its balance of nostalgia, heartfelt entertainment, and a Spielberg-style atmosphere that should appeal to longtime fans and newcomers alike. The original 1984 film has always been seen as some kind of holy grail among those of a certain generation, so naturally any sequel comes up against the added baggage of high expectations and the ever-present specter (ha!) Of disappointment. . If these early reactions have anything to do with it, however, it doesn’t appear to be here.
I saw #GhostbustersAfterlife at CinemaCon and it’s good. A solid continuation of the two original films. Nostalgia for the original, and a strong turn from McKenna Grace as Egons’ granddaughter. Paul Rudd gets the best lines. Fans will dig it. pic.twitter.com/MgBXmEVWqz

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the sequel to Ghostbusters that I’ve waited all my life to see. It’s nostalgia well done. A perfect blend of classic Ghostbusters moments with a fresh, unique twist for a whole new generation to enjoy. I have goosebumps. #GhostbustersAfterlife pic.twitter.com/lOAtbMQedf

I am convinced that Mckenna Grace cannot do anything wrong. She had huge shoes to fill in this role and absolutely crushes it. I got to see Egon in his performance which took this movie to a whole new level. I laughed. I cried. This is one of the best suites I have seen in a long time.

Looks like McKenna Grace is establishing herself as the MVP of this film, stepping into the delicate role of Egon’s granddaughter (played by the late great Harold Ramis in the original “Ghostbusters”).
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the sequel fans have been waiting for decades, for better or for worse. There are great new characters, lots of surprises and lots of laughs with just the right amount of nostalgia. I liked it so much. However, it is not without some problems. Mainly, there is so much stuff in it that there are some big leaps in logic and plot that keep it from really shooting every cylinder. When does it work anyway? Especially children’s stuff? Damn, it works. Sometimes this is not the case. Overall though, I clapped, cried and can’t wait to watch again

While it’s worth noting that “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” has its fair share of flaws that might hold it back from a truly rave review, it also looks like the mix of characters, humor, and surprises is sure to please. to viewers and will compensate for any problems anyone may have.
Ghostbusters: The Afterlife I didn’t expect this to be sincere. There is a very childish atmosphere of Spielberg. And @JasonReitman is extremely faithful to the original. #CinemaCon pic.twitter.com/APyHMzEuYd

Ghostbusters fans are going to be excited about #GhostbustersAfterlife I think. I’m afraid to say more than that, but there’s a lot to like. Easter eggs and nostalgia fill just about every picture, but the story still manages to feel fresh and new.

#GhostbustersAfterlife was really awesome. As someone who wasn’t a lot of #Ghostbusters, I had so much fun even without understanding the references. A ton of heart with a great cast. New and old fans will love it. Stay through the credits! #CinemaCon pic.twitter.com/Gc3oySIXOa

And as has become common with these blockbuster events, don’t forget to stay in the credits (which you should do for any movie, actually!) For an extra scene at the very end.
If there’s one takeaway from these tweets, it’s probably the idea that Reitman is making sure there is something appealing to every type of fan interested in “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”. The reverence displayed in marketing at this point seemed to prioritize nostalgia and adoration over anything else, but luckily it looks like this movie also remembers being a sequel to a classic. irreverent and often hilarious.
