Britney Spears assault allegation handed over to district attorney

A district attorney will decide whether or not to prosecute Britney Spears after being accused of assaulting her housekeeper.

Earlier this month, a longtime Spears employee accused the pop star of slapping her phone during an altercation.

Spears’ attorney called the housekeepers to claim sensational tabloid fodder, adding that the alleged incident involved one, she said, about a cell phone, no knocking and obviously no injury.

Anyone can lay a charge, the statement continued. It should have been closed immediately.

An investigation into the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department complaint has now been turned to the area’s prosecutor, who will make the decision whether or not to prosecute Spears.

In August, it was reported that Spears ‘father Jamie had agreed to step down from his role overseeing his daughters’ guardianship when the time was right.

Spears has campaigned in recent years to be released from her tutelage, which controls her business and personal affairs.

She specifically accused her father of ruining her life and expressed a desire to sue her family members.
