Critics slam Jim Acosta for using ‘thoughts and prayers’ appeal previously maligned in Afghanistan report

On Twitter, Acosta shared his report to “CNN Newsroom” where he criticized Republicans for “exploiting” the Kabul airport attack.

“My thoughts on Afghanistan this week … now is not the time to score political points. Just imagine this time if we just offer our thoughts and prayers. Think about it. Pray over it,” he said. -he declares.

Critics were quick to point out that Acosta frequently criticized the notion of “thoughts and prayers” or encouraged people to call it “empty words” rather than meaningful actions.

Associate commentary editor Noah Rothman reminded Acosta of his April 8 tweet where he quoted President Joe Biden downplaying “thoughts and prayers.”

“Biden, on gun safety, answers calls for reflection and prayer following mass shootings: enough prayers. It’s time to act, ”Acosta tweeted at the time.

The Spectator contributor Stephen Miller also noted that Acosta published a similar article in 2015, relating to President Barack Obama.

Several other users even lambasted Acosta for its own use of “thoughts and prayers”, claiming, as its past responses have done, that it was not enough.
