Podcast host and comedian Joe Rogan has revealed he tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from a series of shows in Florida, where the virus is rampant.

In a video posted to his Instagram, Rogan said he started having symptoms on Saturday (U.S. Time) and tested positive for the virus the next day.

The host of the very popular The Joe Rogan Experience said he was able to recover in three days thanks to several treatments, including an infusion.

Rogan said in the Instagram post that one of the drugs he took was ivermectin, a deworming veterinary drug that the Food and Drug Administration has warned Covid-19 patients against taking. The drug has been shown to be ineffective in clinical trials. He also mentioned prednisone, a steroid, and a “vitamin drip”.

The Centers for Disease Control has warned Americans that it is dangerous to take ivermectin as a Covid-19 treatment.

“I came back from the road on Saturday night very tired,” Rogan told his 13 million Instagram followers on Wednesday.

“I had a headache and just felt exhausted.”

Rogan said he had separated from his family and “slept in another part of the house”.

“Throughout the night I had a fever and sweats… I knew what was going on,” he said.

“I got up in the morning, got tested and it turned out I had Covid,” Rogan said.

Rogan said his treatment was to “throw the kitchen sink” on the disease.

He said he took “all kinds of drugs – monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin, z-pak (also known as azithromycin), prednisone, everything.”

He said that three days of treatment made him feel “good”.

“I only really had one bad day. Sunday sucked.”

He added: “But Monday was better. Tuesday was better than Monday. And today I feel good.”

Rogan said he had to cancel a stand-up concert in Nashville on Friday. This show will instead be moved to October 24.

Rogan’s podcast is one of the most popular in the world, with Spotify reportedly paying him $ 100 million in fees in May of last year for exclusive rights.

Last month, the UFC host criticized the vaccine passports, saying they had brought the country “one step closer” to dictatorship.

In April, Rogan told listeners he would not suggest the vaccine to a healthy 21-year-old.

“If you’re a healthy person, exercise all the time, young, and eat well… like, I don’t think you have to worry about that.”

He then clarified that he was not an “anti-vax” person.

“I think they are safe and I encourage many people to take them,” he said.

But Rogan would not back down on his suggestion that young and healthy people did not need vaccines, prompting a backlash from White House officials.
