Allegations of police abuse at Bulileka in Labasa last month are still under investigation.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the case was under investigation for internal disciplinary matters and as a criminal case.

At the center of this allegation are an 18-year-old and another friend who were both allegedly beaten up by police officers.

He claimed that several police officers beat the two young people in the low-cost housing district.

The young people were part of a drinking party that had been dispersed earlier by the police.

The families of the young men are asking Fijian police for answers on why their sons were beaten and why they were not taken to hospital for their injuries.
