Joe Biden has had a decades-long habit of making openly racist remarks, taking discriminatory positions, and messing around with known racist things that would cause anyone to his political right to be kicked out of society. polite. But being on the left must fix things.
Just a few days ago, while lamenting the difficulty in convincing many Latinos and Blacks to get vaccinated against COVID, he committed a series of racist blunders that barely made their way into the consciousness of the media business.
Biden explained in white that Latinos in America resist vaccinations because they fear being vaccinated and deported.
This statement makes the foolish assumption that all Latinos in this country are illegal aliens subject to deportation. It never occurred to Biden that over 60 million Latinos are in fact US citizens, according to the latest census figures.
>>> More evidence emerges that the media is part of the Biden team
By insulting such a large segment of our population, Biden actually went further. He called this group of people Latinx, a term coined by awakened academics who opposed gender-specific words in the Spanish language.
Only 3% of Latinos use Latinx to describe themselves and less than a quarter have even heard of the term, according to the Pew Research Center. Many find this to be offensive bastardization of the Spanish language.
Here, Biden almost certainly ignores what he’s saying and simply repeated what a liberal on his team asked him to say. But there are plenty of examples where Biden shouldn’t get the benefit of the doubt.
On the same breath as his Latinx commentary, Biden spoke about fears black people may have from the vaccine, attempting to highlight historically shameful episodes when subjected to inhumane medical experiments.
They are used to being experienced on Tuskegee aviators and others, Biden said.
In this, he confused the legendary WWII fighter pilots with a long and notorious government study of syphilis in black men from the Tuskegee experience.
It doesn’t take much effort to imagine the media reaction if Donald Trump had mutilated so many racial issues in one press conference.
Examples dating back to his presidential campaign (and before) abound.
On the popular Charlamagne Tha Gods morning radio show in May 2020, Biden sadly told the largely black audience that if they didn’t know whether to vote for him or Trump, then you are not black. !
Then, in August 2020, Biden told a gathering of black and Hispanic journalists that unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.
Taken together, these statements clearly suggest that Biden thinks all black people think alike.
In the same interview, answering a question about whether he had taken a cognitive test, Biden fired back angrily by suggesting the black reporter was a drug addict.
It’s like telling you. . . before entering this program, you take [sic] a test whether or not you’re taking cocaine, Biden said. What do you think? Eh? Are you a junkie?
Put these words in Mitch McConnell’s mouth and try to imagine how long he will be allowed to stay in the Senate, let alone in a position of leadership.
But Biden has been doing it for years.
In 2010, he warmly praised Sen. Robert Byrd, an exalted former Cyclops of the Ku Klux Klan, claiming that he was one of my mentors and that the Senate was a less auspicious place for him.
>>> Trump Park-Clearing story is the latest in a long line of media stories to fall apart
In 2007, he called Barack Obama the first mainstream African American to be articulate, shiny, and clean.
In 2006 he said: You can’t go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.
In 1977, he declared that the forced transport by bus to desegregate schools would cause his children to grow up in a racial jungle.
Of course, he sadly worked with segregationist senators to oppose that compulsory bus, which decades later led to the height of Kamala Harriss’ presidential campaign, when she lambasted him as having personally touched her as a young girl.
And throughout his career, he has had kind words to say about staunchly segregationist senators.
Any of these statements or episodes would have been enough to sink the political career of any conservative in Washington, DC, against whom tenuous accusations of racism are rife and occur almost daily.
But Joe Biden, who has a lifetime of it, is now President of the United States. Some days and in a certain way it must be good to be on the left.
