Roland Garros champion Krejcikova, who makes her main draw debut at Flushing Meadows, had to resist former world number one Muguruza on Sunday to qualify for her first US Open quarter-final with a 6 -3 7-6 (7- 4) win.
However, Muguruza remained angry after Krejcikova started taking more time between points.
After saving three set points at 4-5 in the deciding match, Krejcikova left the pitch for medical treatment, before returning to see the game in a tie-break.
Muguruza appeared to face Krejcikova in the post-match handshake, and the Spaniard told media: “I’ll let you judge what you think.
“I think between players you know a little bit how to behave at times and I was not very happy at the end of the game.”
What a battle.

Krejcikova, however, explained how she suffered during the match.
“I think I started the game really well and played good tennis,” Krejcikova said, according to the WTA.
“The key was to start the game well. There were a lot of breaks, which was difficult, but I was happy to have won the first set 6-3. Out of nowhere, I took the lead 4-0, then things started to move.
“Garbine started to level up and I expected that. In the end, I was really struggling and feeling really bad right now.
“I don’t really know what happened, but I couldn’t breathe. I started to feel dizzy and the whole world was shaking. It had never happened to me before.”
Krejcikova also needed post-match medical attention and did not hold a post-match press conference.
The Czech have now won 29 of their last 32 games and will face Aryna Sabalenka, the highest seed remaining at Flushing Meadows, in the quarter-finals.
