Simone Biles has the perfect cue ready for anyone who calls her a “quit”: she can’t hear you above her seven Olympic medals.
The great Olympian took to Instagram this weekend to reflect on the month that has passed since the Tokyo Olympics. She also slipped a few words for her detractors.
“It’s definitely not the way I planned the Olympics, but I wouldn’t change a thing for the world,” Biles captioned the post, alongside a photo of his two Tokyo Games medals. . “I’m proud of myself and the career I’ve had so far. these olympics do not erase the past achievements i have made or define who i am as an athlete.
“I have pushed so hard in recent years that the word let go is not in my vocabulary,” continued the gymnast. “For some of you maybe this is how you define me, but keep talking because I can’t hear you over my 7 Olympic medals which tied me to the most decorated gymnast of EVER as well as the most decorated American gymnast. ”
Biles’ legend has garnered much praise in the comments.

Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis responded to Biles’ post with a simple but effective “Woooooooohoooooo !!!!!!!!” and several heart emojis, while fellow American gymnast Jordan Chiles wrote: “Preach! Say it louder for the people in the back.
Biles faced waves of backlash and support following his decision to withdraw from the team’s all-around final in Japan, citing mental health issues and a disorienting issue gymnasts sometimes experience under the name “twisties”.
She then retired from four individual finals before making a comeback and securing bronze on beam. The victory tied Biles with Shannon Miller for the most medals won by an American gymnast.
“We’re not just entertainment, we’re humans,” Biles told The Associated Press at the time. “And there are things going on behind the scenes that we are also trying to juggle, besides sports.”
