Canberra rock band Hands Like Houses have been dropped by their label, UNFD, following what the label calls “serious allegations.”
The UNFD posted the statement regarding the group in the UNFD Social Club Facebook group. This group was where “a redacted legal letter” was published which described the “serious allegations”.
The UNFD said it had “very little information on the situation other than that which has been shared publicly as it is the subject of legal proceedings” and “reaffirms” their “commitment to believe and amplify the voices of all victims”.
“As the situation evolves, we will take further action if necessary,” the statement said. “Abuse and violence have no place at UNFD and UNIFIED Music Group, and these values continue to guide all decision-making, now and in the future. “
For their part, Hands Like Houses took to the Facebook group to publish their own statement. As reported by MusicFeeds, the band’s lead singer, Trenton Woodley, explained in an article that the band was aware of the allegations and that they were being treated “with absolute seriousness and sincerity.”
We are currently prohibited from commenting, ”Woodley continued. “When we can comment, we will.”
