Afghan Taliban reject Pakistani allegations of interference

“Pakistan’s interference is a rumor that has been circulating for 20 years (…) we do not allow the interference,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on Tuesday at a press conference in Kabul.

Mujahid added that the group had acted “in freedom” and had defeated the countries which “occupied” Afghanistan.

“From the start we fought for Islam and this country [Afghanistan],” he added.

The Taliban’s assurance in Pakistan came after Interior Minister Shiekh Rashid told Islamabad that suicide bombers from recent terrorist incidents in Gwadar and Quetta had been identified and added that they were from Afghanistan.
