In a press note released on Wednesday, city police said Mallik requested permission to hold a rally of Charminar’s unit at Quli Qutb Shah Stadium on Wednesday. After careful consideration, permission was refused.
His statement is full of lies, mistaken quotes and distorted facts. Neither the officer nor the staff promised him permission as he claims. It is very unfortunate that he chose to make such unfounded and so radical allegations against senior police officials by distorting the facts, ”the note said.

He also said that police officers are required by law to do their duty and take the necessary action regardless of who approaches them and requests permission for their program. All authorizations for gatherings are processed according to procedure taking into account comments from field agents. The same was done in this case as well. It is relevant to note that Vinayaka Chaturthi starts from September 10 and that there is already a significant movement of Ganesh idols.
This fact was also informed to the petitioner, the note states, adding that any suggestion of an external influence on this procedure was false.
