Islamabad [Pakistan], Sept. 11 (ANI): After much criticism for its proxy war in Afghanistan, Pakistan hosted a conference of intelligence chiefs from China, Russia, Tajikistan and Iran to discuss the Afghan situation, a media reported on Saturday.

Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed, director general of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), hosted the virtual conference on Afghanistan, SAMAA TV reported on Saturday. Afghans around the world blamed the Pakistani government for its proxy war in Afghanistan that led to the Taliban takeover of the country. Participants at the meeting agreed that Afghanistan should not be left alone with its problem, according to SAMAA TV. ISI chief Hameed visited Kabul leading a Pakistani delegation last week ahead of the Taliban’s announcement of the interim government. Many experts and the majority of Afghans believe Islamabad was behind the Taliban’s aggressive advance against government forces in Afghanistan in August. And they also said Islamabad helped the Taliban on every possible front. (ANI)
