3 players to blame for Week 1 loss to the Panthers

Week 1 of the 2021 season is officially on the books, resulting in a 19-14 loss to Sam Darnold and the Carolina Panthers. It wasn’t a complete disappointment for the New York Jets, as many young players and new additions were able to find their place, especially in the second half.

There have been ups and downs, as you would expect from the Jets with so many new faces on the pitch, as well as away. While that doesn’t excuse anyone on the squad for their shortcomings in defeat. Even if a team experiences growing pains, they are still expected to perform well.

In a one-possession game, any game can make a difference.

The team played much better in the second half, but they looked out of their element in the first half. There is no doubt that correcting some mistakes could have led to Robert Saleh’s first victory as head coach.

That being said, as the team prepares for its first home game against the New England Patriots, we’ll be looking to point fingers.

Here are the three players to blame for the Jets’ loss to the Panthers.
