R. Kelly’s executive assistant Diana Copeland denies wrongdoing allegations

Diana Copeland, R. Kellys’ longtime executive assistant, has denied any allegations of wrongdoing on her behalf. Copeland opened up about his work for R. Kelly in an interview on Good Morning America on September 17.

According to Rolling Stone, Copeland recently testified at the Kellys trial, where she said [I] never witnessed anything minor around underage women, she said. Now, I’ve been back and forth so I mean, I want to make sure I’m clear that my experience doesn’t negate anyone else’s experience. Copeland worked for Kelly for about 16 years, overseeing her estate, managing housekeepers and taking care of other housework. Although she spoke about Kelly having girlfriends at home, Copeland said none of the women in Kelly’s household were underage. Copeland was in charge of organizing the trip, so she knew the ages of the girls.

Copeland said, They varied in ages. Person under the age of 18. In fact, when this case happened, I read that women are locked up and kidnapped, and things of that nature. And that’s not what I see. I don’t see anyone trying to leave or any locked doors. All the women who remain walked through the door. She also said she felt comfortable with Kelly, saying she mostly knew Robert, the man of the family, the businessman. But her personal life is Roberts’ personal life. So my work stops at the threshold of his bedroom door. Copeland ended by saying she wouldn’t have done anything different: Looking back, I think I would have done things the same way I did. I don’t think everything I did was wrong, nor do I think anything I could have done would have changed what Robert did.

Kelly has seen a slew of allegations in recent times, including more recently Kelly’s first male accuser testifying against him in court. The alleged victim claims he visited Kelly under false promises that he would help the man in his music career. According to the witness, Kelly asked him if he would ever have sexual fantasies about men, then knelt down and started giving me a blowjob. The man alleges that Kelly then told him to keep this between them.
