Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has reportedly slammed Jerry Colangelo after saying ex-James’ teammate Kevin Love was not in shape to play for the U.S. team earlier this summer.
Colangelo, the former general manager of USA Basketball, made controversial remarks about Love’s limited time with Team USA. Love noted James’ later comment regarding the situation.

“Bron (James) called me,” Love said. “The same thing and it was like, ‘Yeah, f — that. You know it’s something that should never be said, no matter what was said on either side and all that. You never do. that, because there was no need to do that.
James and Love joined the Cleveland Cavaliers together in 2014. Over the next four seasons, the Cavaliers reached the NBA Finals every year, winning the 2016 NBA title.
Although James joined the Lakers in 2018, the two veterans have always enjoyed a close relationship.
Love, 33, has had serious injury issues since James left and was limited to just 25 games last season.
Love’s future with the Cavaliers is uncertain, although there are no apparent plans for the Cavaliers to buy him out in the final two years of his contract.
If that were to happen, one can imagine that James would likely push the Lakers strongly to sign Love. When in good health, Love is still able to deliver a double-double every night.
