Camden County authorities said the body of a dead man was removed from a stream on Monday afternoon.
Camden County Acting District Attorney Jill Mayer said officers responded to Block 600 of Broadway in Gloucester City around 2:15 p.m. Monday after train operators spotted a body in Little Timber Creek.
The man, only identified as 66, was floating face down, police said.
Mayer’s office says an autopsy determined the man’s death was accidental and toxicology results are pending. A crate of beer as well as empty cans were reportedly found at the scene.
The investigation is being conducted by the Camden County District Attorney’s Office and the City of Gloucester Police.
What not to do during a traffic stop according to an NJ police officer
My husband is a police officer. He is an extraordinary man who saves lives and upholds the law. He makes me proud every day.
I know that being a police officer can come with a lot of criticism, especially when there are bad eggs that give police officers a bad reputation. I can assure you that there are a lot of law enforcement officers who do not abuse it, and my husband is one of them.
I hear stories when my husband comes home and he tells me he meets crazy people. I have the impression that it is very easy not to be stopped by a police officer once you are arrested or have a meeting with a cop. I went straight to my husband’s house and he gave me some advice to share with all of you.
