“We don’t play the blame game in our franchise”: Sangakkara after Rajasthan Royals defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore | Locust

Former Sri Lanka captain and current Rajasthan Royals cricket manager Kumar Sangakkara has said they will not engage in the “blame game” within their franchise after RR’s chances of qualifying for them. IPL 2021 qualifiers were hit hard by the seven wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Dubai on Wednesday.

Desperate for a win, RR got off to a great start thanks to Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal, but after their dismissal the middle order returned again as they were limited to 149.

In response, RCB continued that quite comfortably in the 18th with seven wickets in the bank to take a step towards qualifying for the winnings. RR, on the other hand, was almost eliminated from the tournament.

We don’t play the blame game in our franchise. We win together, we lose together, Sangakarra said in the post-match press conference. “We weren’t doing well enough, weren’t smart enough with our hitters and we all know that. The players know that. So we’re going to try to keep it simple, to focus on training and on the way we plan to execute what we have been talking about, ”he added.

The Sri Lankan legend said there was already a lot of pressure on cricketers and he wouldn’t want to add more.

“We always keep it simple. There is a lot of pressure on the players to put themselves. In the game itself, there is a lot of pressure,” added Sangakkara.

For Sangakkara, his job is to guide the team rather than placing more burdens on them.

“My job is not to add to it but to guide them (on) how to deal with it and deliver their best performance,” he said.

To deal with the ups and downs, you need a different perspective, Sangakkara feels.

“There are many ways to deal with the heights of wins and disappointments of loss and to stay calm and focus on what needs to be done.

“At times like this it’s very easy to get shot down and break into small groups where the whispers can start, but our group has held up really well,” added the Sri Lankan hitter.

The former Sri Lankan wicket keeper also praised skipper Sanju Samson, saying he will be selected for the national team for a longer race.

“Yes, we have one-on-one discussions on a lot of things. And when we talk about cricket, India’s aspirations come at a time when the IPL is over. And our discussions are very much focused on cricket. “IPL. Not just his (Samson’s) stick, but about the captain, the team and the way we play,” Sangakkara added.

Samson, who has scored 452 points this season, is the leading scorer in his franchise.

“He (Samson) is a very good player, a very special player. He has done exceptionally well for us this season. And I’m sure he aspires to play for India and at some point I think he is. ‘He will be selected He is good and ready anytime he is chosen,’ Sangakkara signed.
