FORMER Celtic goalkeeper Packie Bonner has criticized Albian Ajeti for his inability to make an impact in recent weeks.
It comes after Ajeti has failed to score in his last five games. With a score equal to 1-1, the Swiss striker was substituted in the 72nd minute in an attempt to take all three points.
Much to the delight of Celtic fans, Jota was the savior by taking the win with a goal just six minutes from time.
Speaking on the show, the Northern Irishman criticized the former Basel star last week, saying he was contributing little or nothing to the Celtic frontline.
Ajeti has been shot down for his inability to make an impact in recent weeks with the former Celtic goalkeeper in the foreground, calling him out for his anonymous playing style.
Speaking on the BBC Sportsound show yesterday, he said: “Ajeti, I don’t think he touched the ball during the entire period (he was in favor). I don’t think he touched the ball only once, he had kind of a fight with the center-half and that was it.
“Whether it’s due to lack of movement or it’s not Celtic sending balls into areas they can run over, it’s amazing that a Celtic striker doesn’t touch the ball. I would like to see the statistics on it.
“Again, I looked at Ajeti today up front and he’s just a completely different player from Kyogo. There have been a few times Kyogo has looked for that little pass, that penetrating pass. had one where McGregor got close (close) that didn’t happen for him.
“The next McGregor tried it again. At least he’s threatening the center-back, while Ajeti continues and stands right in front of them making it easier for the center-backs.”
