Daniel Craig is about to say goodbye to one of his most iconic Hollywood roles, James Bond. No Time To Die is on the doors and about to hit the big screen and this is the last time Craig becomes the British spy he played 15 years ago. While this is an emotional moment and fans will have tears in their eyes as he leaves the coat he has proven himself in for years with, it was not when he first started out.
Daniel first became James Bond in 2006. With Casino Royale, he took up the torch which was then left by Pierce Brosnan in 2002. Initially, fans of the franchise did not really support the actor and said it wouldn’t. capable of doing justice to the British spy. Some felt he was too small and didn’t look like Bond, while others judged if he would be able to perform the stunts.
Daniel Craig, who now sits successfully on the throne of James Bond, now looks back on the time when his casting was criticized. He says he laughs about it today and he laughed that time too. Read on to find out all you should about the same.
In a conversation with USA Today, the star explained that he is happy not to be on social media. Daniel Craig said: “I could laugh then too. I mean, what was I going to do? Go out and hit (someone)? Craig said. “The only thing I can do is make a good movie. I’m not on social media and I’m glad it didn’t really exist at the time. All that kind of stuff online, I didn’t quite get it. I read it and I said to myself: “It’s heavy”. But I got it, you know? People are passionate about Bond films.
He also didn’t hesitate to accept that he was sometimes exhausted from playing James Bond. “I’ve always tried to be honest about my feelings,” Daniel Craig says now. “When I started doing Bond (in ‘Casino Royale’ in 2006) I went for it and I was as physical as possible. I felt like it was really important, that’s what I wanted my Bond to be. I wanted people to believe that I was doing these stunts. However, after ‘Specter’ I really felt like I couldn’t do that anymore. I had the impression: ‘What was it for?’ Plus, it’s at least a year of my life away from home. And it’s really hard on everyone.
