Polish federation president to complain to FIFA about false racism allegations

[ad_1]

Polish federation president Cezary Kulesza will call on FIFA to punish those who have wrongly accused Kamil Glik of racist behavior.

The incident happened last month during a World Cup qualifying match against England in Warsaw, which ended 1-1.

Kuleszas’ comments follow FIFA’s decision on Wednesday to take no action regarding the Glik-Kyle Walker incident due to insufficient evidence.

The players clashed after the halftime whistle, with Glik appearing to pinch Walker on the neck.

Harry Magurie was later embroiled in the showdown, with the referee ultimately warning the Manchester United captain and Glik in what is considered a separate incident.

Jakub Kwiatkowski, media manager and Polish team manager, told the Daily Mirror: The English FA said a racist remark was made, but Glik says that is absolutely not true.

I know the players and they haven’t and neither will they. We completely deny any allegation of wrongdoing.

Writing on Twitter after FIFA decided not to take disciplinary action, Kulesza said: I have decided that the Polish Football Association will turn to FIFA to punish those who wrongfully accused Kamil Glik of racist behavior in the game against England.

I was convinced from the start that these allegations were completely false, so we will officially intervene.

Kulesza, who only became head of the Polish federation in August this year, did not specifically identify which party his complaints were directed against.

Over the past two years, the England team have suffered several cases of racist abuse.

In October 2019, Bulgaria were ordered to play their next two games behind closed doors after racist chants in England’s 6-0 victory in Sofia.

FIFA also punished Hungary for the behavior of their supporters in England’s 4-0 victory in Budapest last month, granting them a stadium ban for racist words and actions, throwing objects, lighting fires fireworks [and] blocked stairs.

Additionally, in July 2021 England players suffered social media abuse from their own fans after losing the Euro 2020 final on penalties.
