Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to blame his midfielder for Sunday’s loss to Leicester City.
Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba were outplayed in the middle of the park as Leicester lost 4-2 at the King Power Stadium.
“We were too easy to play,” Solskjaer said. “I wouldn’t say it all depends on Nemanja and Paul, it’s the team as a whole.
“We have to be compact, we have to be more aggressive, we have handled the runs pretty well behind, but maybe leaving them a bit gave them too much space.
“But it’s the whole team, not just Paul and Nemanja. I didn’t hear what Brendan said but if he felt it …
“We weren’t good enough on the second ball, we didn’t win the 50-50, didn’t touch the ball or win the ball in areas good enough because we’re so good at winning it and go ahead and don’t I don’t see enough today.
“I agree that we didn’t defend well enough.”
