A Fairfield County high school is investigating and has hired a lawyer after a complaint was filed against a staff member.
The complaint originates from Brookfield High School regarding the staff member associated with the school’s encouragement team and contains allegations regarding the welfare of the students.
The school district has hired a lawyer to investigate the allegations, school district officials said.
“In all cases of allegations regarding the safety of students and staff, the district responds,” Superintendent Dr. John W. Barile said in a statement.
Barile went on to say that immediately after receiving the complaint, he decided that “the use of a lawyer to conduct a proper and thorough investigation into the allegations of the complaint was warranted.
“So far, the investigator has interviewed a number of witnesses. Witness hearings will continue throughout the weekend. Several additional witness hearings are scheduled for the coming week.”
The district said it would not comment further until the investigation was completed.
