CHURUBUSCO, Indiana (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Indiana State Police are investigating what they call an incident in the football locker room at Churubusco Junior-Senior High School, involving students.

The details of this story are disturbing.

PSI is investigating allegations that on October 12, some students were urinated and could have been sodomized in the locker room. The next day, police said a school resource officer told them about the allegations.

NBC News from Fort Wayne spoke to the parents of one of the alleged victims who said they didn’t want to speak on camera because they wanted more information first.

Smith-Green Community Schools Superintendent Dan Hile addressed the families in a video on the district’s YouTube channel.

“We all love every child who walks through our door each morning and want each of them to come to school every day feeling safe and supported,” he said.

Hile stressed that the investigation is now a police matter.

“The harsh reality is that student-to-student bullying conflicts can arise in every school and community. We all wish it didn’t and I can promise you that every member of our staff tries to do everything possible to address it at every opportunity using all available resources, ”said Hile.

Smith-Green held a board meeting on Monday where several parents raised concerns about what allegedly happened.

“Children peed on each other, pissed in their shoes, put their private parts on people, rubbed them and touched them, this is just unacceptable.”

“Physical assault and grounding while being abused or peeing in front of others. These are criminal acts. “

Hile said he wants all students to know that there are ways to help if they need to report a problem or speak with an adult at school.

“I would like to reaffirm my commitment to our school family that I will always do my best to keep you informed and engaged and to always be as transparent as possible while complying with all laws and requirements relating to schools. I also believe that we do are never able to grow and improve without doing difficult things and stepping out of our comfort zone, ”he said

Hile says they are inviting a small group of families from elementary and high schools to participate in a roundtable after the fall break to review current school policies and consider ways to improve them.
