Caste Panel Official Visits Wankhede Home After Counterfeiting Allegation, Wife Says “Family Safety Is in Danger”

The deputy chairman of the National Scheduled Caste Commission, Arun Halder, on Sunday visited the residence of Narcotics Control Bureau (BCN) officer Sameer Wankhede, who faces allegations of forging caste documents to enter in the Indian Revenue Services (IRS) via the SC quota. The purpose of the visit was to verify some original documents, noted the wife of BCN director Kranti Redkar Wankhede.

“He (Arun Haldar) came here to see original documents. Now, an investigation will be carried out against those who made allegations against us, ”ANI said quoting Kranti Redkar Wankhede.

The counterfeiting allegation against Wankhede was made by Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik following the arrest of the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan, in the Mumbai drug trafficking case.

Malik alleged that Wankhede was carrying out an extortion racket as part of anti-drug raids and also converted to Islam and then forged caste documents to enter the civil service through the reserved caste quota of the annex.

Speaking to Twitter, the minister posted a photo of Wankhede and his first wife, Shabana Quraishi, and also posted a copy of the couple’s “nikah nama”, implying that Wankhede married under Islamic rules and is therefore Muslim.

“I want to make it clear that the problem I am exposing about Sameer Dawood Wankhede is not about his religion. I want to highlight the fraudulent means by which he obtained a caste certificate to get a job with the IRS and robbed a deserving caste person of his future, ”Malik wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, allegations of this nature were denied by Wankhede who argued it was done to damage his reputation while releasing caste certificates from several members of his family, showing that all were from Mahar, a caste listed.

Speaking to ANI’s wife Wankhede, she added that she feared for the safety of her home after the visit and demanded that safety be provided for the family. “We will provide the CCTV footage to the police. Safety must be ensured for the family, ”she told ANI.

Earlier, Prabhakar Sail, the personal bodyguard of a key witness in the Aryan Khan case, Kiran Gosavi, alleged in his affidavit that Wankhede and his associates demanded 25 crore rupees from actor Shahrukh Khan to release his son Aryan. He and another witness, Shekhar Kamble, also alleged that Sameer Wankhede signed ten blank pages and made them witnesses.
