Activision Blizzard Inc. has fired several anonymous employees and berated others linked to allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination reported earlier this year, according to a news article published Tuesday evening.

In July, Activision Blizzard ATVI, -0.87% of employees denounced the company’s light-hearted response to a lawsuit in California alleging sexual harassment and discrimination, and the issue has haunted the company ever since. .

Late Tuesday, the Financial Times reported that the video game publisher had fired 20 employees and berated 20 others related to the allegations based on a letter distributed to employees.

Activision Blizzard’s compliance officer Frances Townsend told the FT that the layoffs included several game developers and a few supervisors, but no members of the company’s board of directors.

Last August, Activision Blizzard devoted the lion’s share of its earnings call with analysts to how the company maintains a zero-tolerance policy on discrimination and harassment. The company has also upset Blizzard’s management.

More recently, Activision Blizzard was the subject of a federal complaint in September, alleging mistreatment of employees who participated in protests against the company.

Shares of Activision Blizzard rose 0.1% after-hours, after rising 1% to close the regular session at $ 77.18.
