STATEN ISLAND, NY – A Clifton teenager is behind bars for shooting a gun on a residential street in his community last month with others nearby, prosecutors said.

Rashad Porter, 18, of the 100 block of Park Hill Avenue, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the alleged October 14 episode.

A criminal complaint said the events took place around 10 a.m.

Porter discharged a gun near an apartment building in the 200 block of Park Hill Avenue, according to the complaint.

“Several other people (were) nearby,” the complaint says.

No one was hit, apparently.

The complaint accuses the accused of having “displayed depraved indifference to human life (by) recklessly engaging in behavior which created a serious risk of death for another person”.

Porter has been charged with the felonies of second degree felony possession, first degree reckless endangerment and felony possession of a firearm.

He is also charged with one count of reckless endangerment.

Porter was arraigned in criminal court Tuesday and is being held in lieu of $ 75,000 bail.

His next court date is Monday.

His lawyer could not be reached immediately for comment on Saturday.
