Kochi: An ASI who was part of the police team that traveled to Delhi to locate and bring back the daughter of a missing migrant family asked her and accepted 20,000 rupees in Delhi, the High informed on Wednesday. The girl’s mother previously alleged that an ASI charged Rs 5 lakh to travel to Delhi to find the missing girl and booked her two sons for raping their sister when the family could not pay. The missing girl later informed the court through legal services that she had been pressured into making a statement against her brothers. The family also alleged that they were forced to buy plane tickets for the five-member police team. The court also pointed out that the police team could not have come to Delhi without informing a supervisory authority according to the law and asked to explain, by December 2, how the supervisory authority thought that the expenses of the trip to Delhi would be covered. tnn
