One of TikTok’s most popular cops has mysteriously disappeared from social media. And fans and critics are wondering why.
Police Officer Charlie Kingery is as close to a police influencer as he can get. As a reserve officer and member of the SWAT team for the Lawrence Police Department, Kingery first entered the entertainment spotlight via A&E Live PD. The show, which highlighted daily traffic stops and emergency calls made by law enforcement, was pulled shortly after George Floyd’s murder in 2020. But before it was canceled, Kingery was one of several police officers on the show followed by the A&E team.
Kingery enjoyed working with the show very much, and clips of him dancing in uniform earned him enough popularity with viewers to convince him to create a TikTok page in February 2020. Kingery quickly became popular, and in September 2021, he had won 2.4 million. followers of his TikTok account “@officer_kingery”, reports Current Publishing.
Officer Kingery continued to diversify beyond TikTok. He opened a pro-police clothing and merchandise line, Thin Line Apparel, referring to the “thin blue line” that police claim to represent in society. He also turned to comedy over time, touring with the conservative, law enforcement-led group Content Violation.
The sexual assault allegations against Kingery
On Wednesday, November 3, Content Violation canceled its shows in Cleveland and Dayton, Ohio, citing “extenuating circumstances”. The next day, Agent Kingery’s TikTok, Instagram and Twitter became inaccessible. It is not yet clear whether Content Violation has canceled its shows following the allegations against Kingery, although it seems highly likely that Kingery closed his account amid the charges.
Kingery withdrew his account shortly after a TikTok video was shared by Jessi “Flawless Lawless”, a conservative influencer and stylist. In the video, Flawless Lawless accuses an anonymous police officer of harassing and sexually assaulting her, claiming that she knows “it happens to other people” and that she “encourages others to come forward”.
When a commentator asked Flawless Lawless to clarify whether the video was about Agent Eudy, Agent Scales, or Content Violation Agent Kingery, she replied, “It’s not Eudy and it’s not Scales. “.
Then, in a follow-up video Thursday, Flawless Lawless pointed out that Kingery coincidentally deleted his TikTok account shortly after his own video.
Flawless Lawless isn’t the only woman in TikTok’s conservative sphere to accuse Kingery of assault. TikTok influencer @theconservativebarbie shared two anonymous accounts claiming Kingery harassed and sexually assaulted them during shows. We Got This Covered also watched another video from a conservative influencer claiming Kingery sexually harassed her and used to target women on his shows. This video was later removed from the poster.
While Kingery later withdrew his account, he first turned to TikTok to respond to the allegations against him. In it, Officer Kingery claims that TikTok has “changed” and brought “negativity and drama” into his life. He categorically denied the assault and harassment allegations, saying he had “never sexually assaulted anyone in my life, and it pains me to have to say it.”
“I know who I am, those who know me know who I am,” he said, according to a mirror of the original video.
While no charges have been filed against Kingery, this is not the first time the officer has been charged with violence. Prior to his appearance on Live PD, the officer was arrested and formally charged with assault and battery after having a physical altercation with a passer-by who attempted to put an end to a fight between Kingery and his wife. Kingery’s wife claimed the argument was about “an affair,” Fox 59 reports.
Greenfield, the Indiana Daily Reporter notes that the criminal case was later dropped after the viewer ultimately decided not to press charges. Kingery had resigned from the Fishers Police Department after the charge, although he was later hired by the Fortville Police Department before going to Lawrence.
As for Kingery’s future on social media, it’s unclear how he’ll react or if he’ll return to TikTok in the near future.
