Deathloop, the latest title from developer Arkane, was crowned Critics’ Choice at the 2021 Golden Joystick Awards.

Launched in September on PC and as a timed console exclusive to PS5, Deathloop put players in the shoes of Colt, an assassin tasked with taking down eight targets in a single day. Until he (and therefore yourself) understands how to do this, the day will continue to repeat itself endlessly, allowing you to learn more about the movements of each target, to discover different ways of doing them. eliminate and the best way to move around the world.

With the day split into four distinct time zones, and Blackreef’s game world itself also split into four districts, it’s all about figuring out where and when to be in order to find the perfect assassination route.

In our four and a half star review, we praised Deathloop for not being what we expected, and for the fact that it “seemed to defy expectations wholeheartedly.”

“It’s a mysterious murder that hangs in a time loop. It’s a first-person shooter that features a shotgun that can turn into a rifle. It’s a science-based spy adventure. fiction that’s stuck in the 70s. It’s all of those things and none of them at all, “wrote Josh West.” My impression of Deathloop seemed to change with each passing hour and as a result it was difficult not to be impressed – if not completely captivated – by what Arkane has pieced together here. It’s different, it’s elegant, it’s new. You go ‘I haven’t played anything else like Deathloop for a very long time.’

Deathloop is now playable in timed exclusivity on PS5, as well as on PC.
