Evolution reaffirms its position following allegations with “intent to discredit”

[ad_1]

Evolution has contacted the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and initiated an internal review, following allegations made last week by a New Jersey law firm that it violated U.S. sanctions.

This came via a Bloomberg report that the law firm Calcagni & Kanefsky filed a complaint by an “anonymous competitor” with the state regulator, alleging that Evolution violated US laws by doing business in countries like Iran. It was further claimed that the group had lost $ 3 billion in market value.

“These allegations come from an anonymous third party with what appears to be an intention to discredit Evolution,” said a statement released by the company, which it said was made to clarify its business model, responsibilities and manner of operation. functioning.

Evolution, which released a statement last week denying the accusations, reaffirmed that it sells its certified content to licensed operators and aggregators, in which it has no control over how the games will be used by partners. . Adding that he had no direct engagement with the players nor any involvement in payment transactions.

It is the operator’s responsibility to perform a KYC on each player, to decide which markets to focus on, which players to accept, and to comply with their regulations and license, the statement continued.

“The supplier of a cabinet on a game room is not responsible for who enters the casino and plays on that cabinet,” comments Evolution.

“Therefore, the cabinet supplier is not responsible for the player’s KYC and does not manage the player’s money. The same principle applies in the online casino market. The control of who plays the game is the strict responsibility of the operator.

The company also cites ongoing work with regulators and operators to support and provide tools to approach and manage markets in accordance with licensing and regulatory frameworks.

In addition, he adds that he does not own or control any of the operators or aggregators with which he works, nor with which players they allow to play, adding that the group “uses tools at its disposal to block the play of certain countries. , including countries under sanction. lists “.

The company says it has been “falsely alleged” that its games are accessible directly from countries under US sanctions, which would not be possible “without sophisticated technical manipulation.”

The company’s statement continues: “According to the allegations made in the anonymous and questionable report, active manipulation of Evolution’s systems was taken to create the impression that gambling from such countries was possible.

“This use of Evolution content, via an operator who was not an Evolution client but connected to an aggregator of which Evolution has as a client, was apparently carried out by first establishing a VPN tunnel from a IP address in a blocked country to obtain an IP address in an accepted country.

“From this IP address, an operator connection to the Evolution lobby was established, clearing all geographic IP checks, and a session was established with the browser. Subsequently, the VPN of the accepted IP address was terminated, while the content session remained active in the browser.

“The first IP address of the blocked country remains active. Prior to these steps, several attempts to connect directly from the IP address in the blocked country were rejected.

“This is a deliberate action to circumvent a widely accepted and well-established process for verifying the geographic location of users, with the aim of discrediting Evolution.”
