New Delhi: Delhi assembly opposition leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said on Monday that although cases of thatch burning are now negligible in neighboring states, the capital continues to be the scene of severe air pollution. In a statement, the BJP official said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal blamed the stubble burning for air pollution and asked the CM to apologize to the farmers. “Kejriwal and many other AAP leaders blamed the pollution mainly on stubble fires and fireworks during Diwali. Now there is no stubble or firecrackers. So the Delhi government should tell us the real cause of the pollution in the city, ”Bidhuri said in a statement. “The government should accept that the capital is polluted for local reasons and work sincerely to remedy it. Bidhuri added that no DTC buses had been purchased for Delhi in the past seven years. “People were forced to use their vehicles and obstacles were placed on the expansion of the Delhi metro. The state of Delhi’s roads is so bad that dust blows there all day. Scientists also say that dust is the cause of pollution in Delhi, ”Bidhuri said, adding that the air purifiers installed by the AAP government were not working. There has been no reaction from the Delhi government despite several attempts by TOI.
