Roger Stone, Republican political consultant and former campaign adviser to Nixon and Trump, tore up his critics and those of the Jan.6 Congressional committee subpoenaing him to appear over the Capitol riots, to which he repeated he did not had not attended.
Stone told Fox Nation’s “Tucker Carlson Today” that he had a hunch he was not going to attend President Trump’s speech that preceded the unrest on Capitol Hill.
The Connecticut native was one of 5 new witnesses called to appear by the committee of Mississippi Democratic Representative Bennie Thompson, as the panel announced it believed he “helped or had knowledge of the planning. and funding the rallies in DC and the violent attack on the US Capitol. “

“I had a feeling. I had a hunch that I just didn’t want to go. I think God was giving me a signal, I didn’t go,” Stone said, adding that instead, he’d watched Trump’s Ellipse speech from a block away at the Willard Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue.

“Let me be as clear as possible. Any statement, statement or implication of which I am aware or which I was involved in any way in the illegal activities of the Capitol on January 6 is categorically false,” Stone asserted.
“But if you read their subpoena… they’re trying to say that my remarks at two legally permitted gatherings the day before are the cause of the break-in.”
Stone noted that a member of Thompson’s committee, Representative Adam Schiff from California, is an ironic figure to have called him to testify.
Stone said that Schiff “broke the house rules by talking about my [previous] testimony.”
“Adam Schiff is the architect of my previous indictment. Mueller shared my emails with Schiff so he could shape his trick questions. Any false statements I made to the House Intelligence Committee were irrelevant, irrelevant – did not hide any underlying crime. “
He also criticized the media for misinterpreting and exaggerating aspects of his previous public remarks. He cited CNN reporting as an example – claiming that CNN had already aired part of an earlier speech speaking of an “apocalyptic view of politics today and the struggle our country faces.”

“Yes. I think it’s a struggle between darkness and light, between good and evil, between the pious and the ungodly. And they said, well, that was the incitement to violence. No. It’s a statement of my beliefs, “he said. , adding that other media outlets which have shown photos of him with members of the Proud Boys condemn him as “guilty by association”.
“Do you have any idea how many photos I’ve had with people whose names I don’t even know, over the past two years? I mean, I’m an American political icon, whether I like it or no.”
