News broke on Wednesday afternoon that a former Jaguars kicker accused head coach Urban Meyer of hitting him. Despite the insane claim, Jacksonville defends Meyer. ESPN reporter Michele Steele tweeted the news.
The Jaguars acknowledge that the team’s lawyers were aware of the reported incident, which would likely mean that the team president and / or general manager would have known as well. They sided with Meyer. https://t.co/xzhClmS1nD

According to former Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo, Meyer kicked him as he stretched ahead of their preseason game against the Cowboys. Here’s how Lambo said their conversation went into the situation:
“Hey asshole, do your f-king kicks,” Meyer said.
“Never fuck me again,” Lambo replied.
Meyer then claimed he had every right to kick him, saying, “I’m the head coach of the ball, I’ll kick you anytime I want.”
Of course, this is all from Lambo’s point of view. Steele mentioned in his tweet that the Jaguars are not only on Meyer’s side, but that they are well aware of the situation. The team’s lawyers were aware of the situation, which was reported. It also means that the front office, Managing Director John Schneider and Chairman Peter McLoughlin, were most likely also aware of the incident.
No matter how it really turned out, the Jaguars didn’t seem to let the situation affect their relationship with Meyer. There are plenty of other issues that have earned Meyer a place in the Jacksonville niche, including the Jaguars’ brutal 2-11 record.
