Hyderabad, said the minister, is a “truly cosmopolitan city”.
“In our city, standing actors receive an open invitation. We are not canceling Munawar Faruqui and Kunal Kamra shows just because we are not politically aligned with them. We are therefore a truly cosmopolitan city, welcoming of all cultures, welcoming of criticism. You can come here and criticize the government. In fact, we get a lot of bricks from our opposition every day, but we are very tolerant, ”Telangana’s Minister of Urban Development said at a reception.

Hyderabad welcomes all who wish to come here and make the city their home, he added, adding that with more opportunities and investments, the capital of Telangana “is really growing and becomes a global city “.
KT Rama Rao, also known by his initials KTR, also had a message for Bengaluru. “You pretend to be a cosmopolitan city, and then you end up taking acting very seriously. I don’t understand all that, ”he remarked.
Faruqui and Kamra have often been the target of right-wing groups, who accuse them of insulting Hindu deities in their sketches. Bengaluru City Police last month denied permission to Faruqui’s broadcast, citing possible “public order issues” and also described him as a “controversial figure”.
