A $ 12 million deal to acquire Chris Noth’s brand of tequila has been canceled following allegations of sexual assault against the “Sex and the City” actor, FOX Business can confirm.

Noth’s tequila brand, Ambhar, was being sought for acquisition by Entertainment Arts Research, Inc. (EARI), a beverage company that has been interested in celebrity beverage brands in the past.

The company said on Friday, however, that it was taking direct action to end its discussion to acquire Ambhar in light of two women making allegations that Noth sexually assaulted them years ago. The move effectively ends a deal that would have made Ambhar de Noth around $ 12 million.

Representatives for the tequila company did not immediately respond to FOX Business’s request for comment.

“At the moment, it doesn’t make sense for us to move forward with this deal in light of the claims, which must be taken very seriously,” said Bernard Rubin, CEO of EARI. in a press release. “That said, we continue to seek out brands of spirits that align with EARI’s ethics of social responsibility.”

This isn’t the first trade deal the allegations cost Noth. After quickly starring in a Peloton commercial that capitalized on a key plot point of the new TV show “And Just Like That…” involving his Mr. Big character, the brand has since withdrawn the commercial in light of The Hollywood Reporter exhibit in which the two women stepped forward. Meanwhile, the actor was also kicked out of A3 Artists Agency, a major Los Angeles talent agency.

The women shared details with The Hollywood Reporter about the alleged separate encounters that took place in 2004 and 2015.

The outlet claimed that the women – Zoe, now 40, and Lily, now 31 – have approached the outlet separately in recent months and do not know each other.

Zoe claims she met Noth in 2004 at the age of 22 when she started working for a media company. Her former boss corroborated her claims that Noth, then 49, left her voicemail messages and was seen talking to her at her desk. Zoe alleged that one day Noth invited her to the pool at her apartment in West Hollywood. She went with a friend. Before taking a phone call to her apartment, Zoe alleges that Noth asked her for her opinion on a book. When she later went to return the book to him, she claims he kissed her before pulling her towards him and removing her shorts and bikini bottoms and having forced sex with her despite his protest.

Lily claimed to have met Noth at a New York nightclub in 2015 when he was 60 and she was 25. She claimed he was “flirting” with her and invited her out to a restaurant called Cantinori . When she arrived the kitchen was closed, but they had drinks. Lily alleged that Noth then invited her to her apartment. “I was like, ‘We’re going to drink whiskey and talk about his acting career.’ It sounds so stupid, ”she told the store.

“He kept trying and trying and I should have said no more firmly and gone. And then the next thing I knew he pulled his pants down and he was standing in front of me,” said she said, adding that he “push” her to give him a blowjob.

“The accusations made against me by people I met years, if not decades ago, are categorically false. These stories could be from 30 years or 30 days ago – no always means no – c ‘is a line I didn’t cross. the encounters were consensual. It’s hard not to question when these stories came out. I’m not sure why they are resurfacing now, but I know this : I did not attack these women. ”
