And after online abuse, DJ Fer Palacio, 31 – who was pictured at a New Year’s party with the former Barcelona star – was forced to post a negative test result on Instagram to prove that he is not to blame.
Messi is now in quarantine at his home in his hometown of Rosario after being forced to miss his flight back to Paris and extend his stay in his homeland.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner flew to Argentina on December 23 to spend Christmas and New Years with his family.
Messi and his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, were caught on camera singing and dancing at a private party earlier this week.
That same night, the footballer met famous Argentinian DJ Palacio after hiring him to perform at the party.
And Palacio said he made the decision to defend himself after being labeled an “assassin” by social media haters.
The DJ said on his Instagram on Sunday: “I just woke up and saw that I have a lot of posts and I’m trendy on social media because Messi has tested positive for Covid and people say I gave it to him.
“I have lots of private messages and people have even gone so far as to call me a murderer.
“I had a Covid test yesterday because I have to go to Uruguay tomorrow and I do not have the Covid.
“I’ll show you everything now.” “
He ended his selfie video by sending a kiss to those who “insulted him” before posting his negative PCR result, in his full name of Fernando Palacio on his Instagram so that his million followers could see it.
After playing for Messi earlier this week, the DJ posted a photo of himself with the soccer star and wrote: “I did the greatest dance.
“Thanks to the whole Messi family for the invitation.”
PSG have said Messi will stay in Argentina until he tests negative and then resume a flight to Paris to join his teammates.
The Argentinian last played for PSG in their 1-1 draw against FC Lorient on December 22.
