Antonio Brown has surprising allegations against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Last Sunday, Brown was seen leaving the field during the Tampa Bay game against the New York Jets. He left the game removing his jersey and gesturing to fans inside MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

After Tampa Bay’s comeback victory, head coach Bruce Arians announced that Antonio Brown is no longer a member of the squad.

Two days later, the enigmatic seven-time Pro Bowler still has not been released by the Buccaneers. Some believe this is because the team want to avoid him signing with a rival in the playoffs.

For its part, Brown’s camp disclosed that he was suffering from an injury and was unable to return to the game.

“What he told the staff, from what I understood, was that he was not going into the game because in his mind he was not feeling healthy,” NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported early Monday morning. “The response from the offensive coaches and Bruce Arians was, ‘If you’re not going to come in when we tell you to come in, then you can’t be here. At that point, they threw him on the sidelines and then cut him off from the squad. “

We now have more information on this through Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

“Antonio’s friends were worried about the pain he was feeling, so they encouraged him to see a top surgeon outside of the Bucs organization. This visit and an MRI confirm his severe pain and this story is developing, ”Stroud noted on Twitter. “Antonio is known to have a high pain threshold, but the belief is that Antonio probably never should have been on the pitch to start on Sunday. And the official statement from Brown’s camp will be released soon. They have been silent since Sunday.

This could very well explain why Tampa Bay has yet to formalize Brown’s exit. Depending on the MRI result referenced above, the team might actually be wrong about the situation we saw unfold on Sunday afternoon in New Jersey.

We’ll have to wait for more news from Brown’s camp before we delve into the matter further. However, it should also be noted that the star catcher was seen jumping on his ankle as he left the game. It’s right there on video for everyone to see.

For his part, Arians made it clear that Brown did not claim to have been injured before leaving the game.

With over 30 years of coaching experience in the NFL and highly respected in the league, it’s hard to imagine the Arians forcing an injured player back into a game. It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

This all comes after Brown was suspended for three games by the NFL for allegedly tampering with his COVID-19 vaccine card. Sunday was only his second comeback from the aforementioned suspension.

A member of the Buccaneers since the start of the 2020 season, Brown has seen his terms with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots end in dramatic fashion. This includes a breakup with then-Steelers teammate Ben Roethlisberger and multiple incidents off the field.

Since joining the Bucs, Brown has recorded 87 receptions for 1,028 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games.

We’ll have more of this developing story as it breaks down.
