Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers called longtime Chicago sports reporter Hub Arkush a “bum” for ignoring him as an MVP candidate.
Aaron Rodgers may have already spent 47 minutes defending himself against his vaccine status on The Pat McAfee Show, but his media tour isn’t over yet.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Rodgers came on for one of the many reporters who have criticized him in recent months, but this one is just covering the team Rodgers “owns”.
Rodgers said longtime Chicago sports reporter Hub Arksuh is “a bum … an absolute bum.”
Aaron Rodgers on Hub Arkush: “He’s a tramp… an absolute tramp.”
Rodgers believes he should be excluded from voting for MVP due to his predisposition towards him as a person.

Arkush argued that Rodgers shouldn’t be MVP due to his vaccine debacle, to which Rodgers replied, “If that’s the case, then make him ‘the most vaccinated player’.
Chicago sports reporter faces backlash for comments from Aaron Rodgers’ MVP
Arkush, who is one of the voters for the AP’s prestigious NFL MVP Award, told Chicago radio station 670 The Score why he didn’t think Aaron Rodgers deserved to win this season.
“I don’t think you can be the biggest jerk in the league and punish your team, your organization and your fan base like he did and be the MVP. Has he been the most valuable in the field? Yes, you could make that point, but I don’t think he’s clearly more valuable than Jonathan Taylor or Cooper Kupp or maybe even Tom Brady. So from where I’m sitting, the rest is why it won’t be my choice.
Arkush went on to say that the way Rodgers had performed this season was “inappropriate”.
“I think he’s a villain, and I don’t think a villain can be the most valuable guy at the same time,” he said.
A day later, Arkush was already regretting his decision to reveal his stance on Rodgers.
“I made a big mistake,” Arkush said on Wednesday as he joined 670 The Score. “As for what happened last night, it’s up to me. I messed up.”
Arkush said it was more about breaking the rule the 50 Voter MVP are supposed to follow – don’t reveal your vote – than offending Aaron Rodgers, but Arkush’s comment will likely have the opposite effect on the Rodgers’ MVP campaign.
As in, comments like this only inspire players to work even harder to counter such claims – look no further than Brady’s “FEA year” of 2016. The year began with an unfair suspension and ended in a Super Bowl, and while Rodgers is unlikely to win the award two years in a row, his performance over the next few weeks could potentially cement his case.
