The CW Network announced today that Season 6 of the flagship series Riverdale, originally scheduled to resume on March 6, will now return with new episodes two weeks later on March 20.

The change stems from the postponement of the Critics Choice Awards. Postponed from Jan. 9 due to Omicron’s current ramp-up, the awards show, broadcast by The CW and simulcast by TBS, will now take place on March 13, the organization announced yesterday.

The rescheduled Critics Choice Awards would have moved ahead of Riverdale just a week after the show’s spring premiere in its new 8 p.m. Sunday slot. A start on March 20 would allow an uninterrupted race.
