Chelsea star slammed after poor start to Manchester City

Manchester City and Chelsea are currently locked in Premier League action at the Etihad.

Chelsea went into the game knowing that a defeat would hurt their Premier League title hopes.

Man City, on the other hand, would remain top of the league with a defeat. But it would also open up the possibility of Liverpool moving within five points of them, should Jurgen Klopps’ side beat Brentford on Sunday and win their game in hand.

At present, it is Manchester City who have indeed dominated the meeting.

Romelu Lukaku carved out a chance early in the match when he stormed off John Stones. However, the Belgian squandered his chance by passing on an offside Hakim Ziyech.

Marcos Alonso targeted

Manchester City, meanwhile, gave Chelsea all sorts of problems, especially on the Londoners’ left side.

Raheem Sterling spent the first half hour of the game running around Marcos Alonso, with Malang Sarr often out to sweep away the Spaniards’ mess.

And now, after a dismal start against City, Alonso has come under heavy criticism online, with just part of the reaction below:
