Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White wants all the credit for creating a $7 billion mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion – but refuses to take responsibility for how she succeeded.

That’s why White ignored complaints about the recent pay-per-view (PPV) price hike, which takes effect for the UFC 270: ‘Ngannou vs. Gane’ event this Saturday. night (January 22, 2022) inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

DOUBLE CHAMPIONSHIP HEAD! The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, for the first time in more than two years with a heavyweight title unification bout that will see former teammates collide, as division kingpin, Francis Ngannou, battles his acting counterpart, Ciryl Gane. In the pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event of UFC 270, new flyweight champion Brandon Moreno returns with former titleholder Deiveson Figueiredo. THIS IS AN EXCITING CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLE DIP NOT TO BE MISSED!

Don’t miss a single second of EPIC face-punch action!

The cost has gone from $69.99 to $74.99.

“We have nothing to say on that,” White told reporters at the UFC Vegas 46 post-fight press conference (transcribed by MMA Fighting). “We gave the pay-per-views to ESPN, so yeah, that’s their decision. You know how I feel about that stuff. I don’t like it when the prices go up, but it doesn’t. It’s not my decision. It’s theirs.”

So, who do we blame for this increase?

The UFC moved its PPV programming to digital network ESPN+ in early 2019, as part of a landmark deal with the “sports world leader” that is expected to last through 2025. “Fight Night” cards no PPVs are usually split between ESPN and ESPN+, depending on fight schedule, but PPV orders require a standalone purchase, as well as an existing ESPN+ subscription.

Which costs $6.99/month or $69.99/year.
