SEPA chief executive resigns over ‘conduct allegations’

The chief executive of Scotland’s Environmental Protection Agency has resigned over misconduct allegations.

A statement from the public body said Terry AHearn had left his post.

Bob Downes, Chairman of SEPA, said: Following allegations of misconduct, Terry AHearn has resigned and left his position. SEPA has a clear code of conduct and takes allegations of misconduct very seriously. To protect anonymity, SEPA is unable to comment further.

Downes said recruitment for a new chief executive would begin shortly.

Jo Green will serve as interim CEO, supported by the SEPA agency management team.
