Temuera Morrison Agrees With ‘Boba Fett’ Review: ‘I Talk Too Much’

Actor Temuera Morrison actually agrees with some of the criticism surrounding his character!

Morrison plays legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett in Disney+’s live-action series “The Book of Boba Fett.”

The show takes place immediately after “The Mandalorian” Season 2 in the “Star Wars” timeline. Boba Fett has teamed up with mercenary Fennec Shand, played by voice actress “Mulan” Ming-Na Wen, to claim territory that was once ruled by Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine.

Although some fans were happy to see Boba Fett’s heartbreaking escape from the Sarlacc Pit, other fans criticized certain elements of the show.

One criticism of the series concerns the character of Boba Fett himself. In the original “Star Wars” trilogy, Boba Fett was a man of few words. In the new series, critics say Boba Fett talks too much…and Morrison agrees!

Interestingly, the biggest fan criticism of the character is one that was echoed by the actor himself. In a recent interview with NME, Morrison agreed that Boba Fett says a lot more than he should.

“I talk too much,” Morrison said. “That bubba doesn’t talk that much!”

When showrunner Jon Favreau left the set, Morrison attempted to cut the number of lines Boba Fett had to say.

“’I have all these paragraphs here! I think we should get rid of it,” Morrison reportedly told a crew member. “‘And Jon’s gone to Atlanta, so don’t tell him!'”

Although Morrison thought he would get away with it, he was surprised by a phone call the next morning.

“The next morning on set, I get a call from Atlanta, ‘Uh, Jon wants you to say all that dialogue,'” he recalled.

While he didn’t say which episode it was in, it looks like Favreau will just have to disagree with fans and even Morrison himself on how much dialogue Boba Fett needs to have.

However, that’s not the only controversy the series has faced.

That’s not the only criticism the series has faced. In the third chapter of Boba Fett’s book, Boba Fett enlists the help of a young biker gang, which includes “Yellowjackets” star Sophie Thatcher. However, each of the bikers has a different brightly colored bike, which one reviewer compared to something out of “Power Rangers”.

Asked about the criticism surrounding the motorcycle gang’s sudden appearance, Morrison said: ‘Some of these things are out of our control. We can’t say as artists ‘We don’t want to work with these people, that’s not enough.’

“They brought a lot of color, I thought,” he continued. “They were great; [they] were working hard.

Ming-Na Wen actually liked the colorful bikes and said the look of them was something “Star Wars” creator George Lucas might have liked.

“It’s a real homage to the things [creator] George Lucas has always loved,” Wen explained. “Whether it’s Mods in the 60s, or [Lucas’ hot rod film] “American graffiti”. At the same time, it lends itself to learning more about Tatooine. And Sophie was a lovely human being, and I really enjoyed getting to know her.

Although fans didn’t like the look of the biker gang, they were fans of a new character the show added.

Fans were thrilled to see “Machete” star Danny Trejo appear in a galaxy far, far away. So far, Trejo has only made one appearance as the trainer of Boba Fett’s new Rancor.

“Machete has finally arrived in space, Star Wars!” Trejo tweeted alongside a photo of him and Morrison backstage. “It was great working with Temuera Morrison and others on #TheBookOfBobaFett!”

“And now it’s [canon]”, commented a fan. “I actually smiled when I saw you appear. Then I was nervous the whole scene with the Rancor that you wouldn’t survive.. because it was you.. in Star Wars, lol .

“So happy to see you in Star Wars,” another fan wrote.

“Nice to see you appear!” another fan added. “I hope it’s a regular gig!” You fit in well, with the “feel of history”.

Fans hope to see more of Danny Trejo in “The Book of Boba Fett.” New episodes are available to stream every Wednesday, exclusively on Disney+.
