‘Blame Moshiri’ – Simon Jordan hits out at Bill Kenwright Everton critics

[ad_1]

Former Premier League chairman Simon Jordan has denounced the blame Bill Kenwright received from Everton fans.

Kenwright was seen talking with supporters after the 1-0 home loss to Aston Villa on Saturday.

In a video shared on social media, fans chanted ‘Let go if you love the club’ at the Blues chairman outside Goodison Park.

The defeat to Villa leaves Everton 16th in the table and four points above the relegation zone – and fans, tired of the way the club is run, staged a sit-in protest after the final whistle.

But Jordan believes Blues owner Farhad Moshiri, not Kenwright, is the man to blame.

“It is unfathomable to blame Bill Kenwright for Moshiri and his choices,” the former Crystal Palace chairman told talkSPORT. “Moshiri is a big boy with big bags of money.

“If he wants to bring people like Kia Joorabchian around him and take their influence; if he wants to reduce – if we are to believe him – to Bill Kenwright and others, then who do you blame?

“You don’t blame the minions for Boris Johnson’s handling of this country. You blame Boris Johnson. So you blame Moshiri.

When it was suggested by former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy that the frustration was due to Kenwright being pictured alongside Moshiri, Jordan replied: “So he’s so weak, isn’t he , Moshiri?” He earned that amount of money being so weak? »

“I don’t think Moshiri listened to Bill at all,” Murphy said.

To which Jordan replied, “Me neither, so don’t blame Bill.”

Duncan Ferguson’s first game defeat in temporary charge extended the Blues’ poor run to one win from 14 league games.

In the video that was shared on social media, Kenwright’s response to the chants of “let it go if you like the club” was, “How would that help?”

A second video was then revealed in which “27” was used to highlight the last time Everton won a trophy, to which the chairman replied: “It’s not 27 – we had a great time times.”
